HORI announces the Nintendo Switch Mobile mode dedicated controller Grip Controller Fit. Compact from conventional products while ensuring operability
On August 17, the game peripheral device manufacturer announced the Nintendo Switch controller Grip Controller FIT. Scheduled to be released in September, the price is 5480 yen (tax included). It is Nintendo's official license product, and four models of light gray x yellow/emerald green x white/midnight blue/apricot red are sold.
The grip controller FIT is a Nintendo Switch controller dedicated to mobile mode. That is, instead of Joy-Con, it is used by attaching it to the rail of the Nintendo Switch itself (wireless connection is not possible). There is a wider width than Joy-Con, there is room for layouts such as buttons, and grips are available on the back. The feature is that it is easy to grasp and operate.
HORI sells a grip controller as a similar product. In other words, it is a product as if a general controller was divided into two and made Joy-Con, and it became popular because of its good operability. On the other hand, the company was received a slightly more compact product, which fits women and children's hands. Therefore, the grip controller FIT was developed while inheriting the characteristics of the grip controller.
When the grip controller FIT is compared with the grip controller, the grip of the full-fledged size is first compact, and the width when installed is reduced by about 3 mm. The diameter of the ABXY button is about 1mm smaller. The L/R stick is also compact, and the height is about 1.5mm lower.
On the other hand, the buttons that can be assigned to the button and the three-stage firing function continue to be installed. A continuous fire hold function that can fire without holding the button is also provided, and has a compact and grip controller transfer function. In addition, Joy-Con does not have a function that exists, such as a gyro sensor, acceleration sensor, HD vibration, NFC, and motion IR camera.
The grip controller FIT will be released in September. Sold at Amazon, Yodobashi Camera, and Joshin Web Shop. It is said that this product does not support HORI's Grip Controller-only attachment for Nintendo Switch / PC (related article). Check the official website for details of the product.
