Netflix suspends Will Smith production
A week from the Óscar ceremony, the life of Will Smith has taken an inopportune turn. Not only the actor has resigned the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences, but several of the projects of him are in a quite complicated situation . One of these, fast and Loose of Netflix, it seems that it is nothing to be canceled.
According to a report by Indiewire, fast and Loose, tape starring Will Smith, has completely detained its preproduction . Although at the moment there is no official communiqué on the part of Netflix, the medium has indicated that the complicated situation in which Smith is partly responsible for this inconvenience.
A couple of weeks ago, the first setback was given in this production, when David Leitch abandoned the position of Director. However, was Smith's behavior, which put an indefinite pause to this tape . Indiewire has pointed out that fast and Loose has two roads. On the one hand, the production would be canceled in its entirety. On the other hand, the film would remain in motion, but with another director and principal actor.
Netflix is not the only company that is reevaluing its relationship with Will Smith. A couple of days ago it was announced that the preproduction of BAD Boys 4 has also stopped , this even though Smith had already been part of the script. Along with this, rumors have pointed out that Emancipation, AppleTV + film starring this actor, runs the risk of being canceled.
The only thing that is clear is that Hollywood wants to get away from the name of Will Smith at this time. On related topics, here you can learn more about Smith's resignation of the Academy. Similarly, the actor could lose the Óscar from him.
Editor's note:
While it is true that nobody wants to associate with Smith at this time, put an end to several of the projects of him sounds like a quite exaggerated step. Yes, Hollywood has suspended several actors in the past, but this in an extreme case. At the moment it seems that Smith only needs to be hidden until the storm passes.
