Overwatch 2 does not release before the Blizzcon 2020

Overwatch 2 was finally announced after months and months of waiting and rumors, but that does not mean that it comes soon, as shared by the director of the game and the vice president of Blizzard, Jeff Kaplan.

In an interview with VG247 at the BlizzCon, Kaplan said the company did not have an exit date or a window at this stage of the development process, but had known when it would occur.

I know it s a lame answer, I m really sorry, and it s not like this secret thing that s the last thing we want to tell players. It s just that we do not know it not, he said. What s important for Blizzard, for all our games is that the game is great and players say, Yes, it s ready and it s time. I do not have a date. It s not this year, it s a rather safe answer.

Kaplan then added: I feel that we re going to talk about overwatch again next year to the Blizzcon if it helps, which means that the title will not be published as soon as November 2020. In the meantime, at least one additional hero will be introduced into the original game.

Overwatch 2 spell on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, which gives us anyway the idea that it does not delay, but in a period of time where the consoles of the current generation will remain relevant.
