Bungie employees work at home due to a coronavirus

Bungie recently announced that all of its employees will work at home until the coronavirus epidemic grows. Covid-19 affects the world in many ways and the game industry is not different, developers withdrawing events and some, like Bungie, working since the security of their homes. Bungie s head office is located in Bellevue, Washington, Seattle, which has been directly affected by the coronavirus. Bungie will update Destiny 2 for PC, PS4, Google Stadia and Xbox One of the house until further notice.

The state of Washington currently has 39 reported COVID-19 cases according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Due to the concerns that the virus is making its way into the studio, Bungie has decided to minimize the risks by leaving the developers working at home. This is not an optional working condition at Bungie, because the Studio management has adopted a policy that requires all employees to continue working on Destiny 2 remotely. Bungie apparently employs 500 to 1,000 employees, then hundreds of developers stay at home to work during the weeks to come.

Although this sudden development change can have a negative impact on most studios, Bungie has quickly set up an infrastructure that allows its employees to work at home so that they can stay safe during the epidemic of Cvid- 19. The launch next week of the Destiny 2 season and the Osiris Trial Weekend PVP event will not be apparently affected by changing working conditions. However, some patches can be affected in the future, depending on the duration of the epidemic.

Do you think more developers should stay at home to work? What other companies allow their employees to work at home during the coronavirus epidemic? Let us know in the comments below!
