Mercedes draws back from the formula E 2022

The car maker announced on Wednesday the end of his commitment in the fully electric racing series after the coming season. Mercedes will then fully focus on Formula 1 as a development laboratory for series production, as it was called in the message. Only last weekend the manufacturer with Nyck de Vries had secured the World Cup title in driver and team ranking in Formula E.

Why DEADMAN WONDERLAND isn't getting a Season 2

For the race series, the exit of Mercedes is another setback. Previously, Audi and BMW had completed their farewell to the end of the past season. Mercedes had been with its own team since 2019. Resources from the Formula E project will in future flow into the faster electrification of the car brand, which will be fully electrical before the end of the decade.

The youngest World Cup success will be as a historic milestone in the long racing history of Mercedes-Benz, said Toto Wolff, the motorcook of the car manufacturer. Now we will give everything to make sure that we successfully end our formula e-adventure in the season 8, added the Austrian. The retreat is validated for August 2022.
